March 17th night, Australia China Art Foundation held the vernissage for their new exhibition 'Between You and Them' and it opened with a bang. A large gathering occurred, a coming together of like minded people whom all bore a common interest, a true passion for art.
Celebrations were in order, as guests, entertainers, artists and academics alike bonded over fine food and wine. Distributed across four floors the celebration was in a constant state of flux. Contemporary belly dancing and accapella soprano singing took place among the art on the first floor. All the floors were awash with art, Leading Chinese contemporary blended with international Turkish and Australian works. The exhibition had a slew of different mediums from video to oil on canvas to installation.
'Between You and Them' is an immersive and progressive exhibition that will continue to run until the 16th of May. Situated in Shanghai's artistic epicenter of Songjang, the space is alive with energy and dynamism.
